Travel photography lovers

Photographs, which vary from quirky snapshots of culture to pure images of nature, are simply beautiful. We couldn’t even imagine going on a trip without a photo camera. The real enthusiast photographers do not even go on holiday with one camera but two or even three. There are of course several cameras for all types of photos to capture the best and most beautiful shots. Travel and photography go hand in hand for Capture The Gambia. Strolling at a new destination with a camera in hand, we capture all the memories. We think it is important to photograph as much as you can and wherever you go because you will carry this with you forever. In addition, photographing is also a way to view the world with a different view and to see things that transform into something new, or something totally unexpected. For all underwater shots, we love to use the Canon PowerShot S100 camera which can be used for all underwater shots. U can use it for everything from scuba diving to snorkeling, from paddle boarding and surfing to playing in the pool. Also, the GoPro Camera is one of the camera’s we always bring on a holiday or a short trip. This camera is so fun to play with. it’s also perfect for wildlife photography and capturing stunning portraits on the sly.

To prepare you for the next journey we set up some tips to make the best photos on a holiday:

· Never leave the accommodation without your camera.

Really, you will regret it if you have not photographed something at a spontaneous moment. Imagine that suddenly a monkey jumps on your head on the way to the swimming pool or that you find a starfish in the sea. Too nice to capture right?

· Learn a local greeting by heart This tip is especially useful if you want to take pictures of the local community. If you speak to someone in his or her own language, the chances are that he or she will let you go ahead. It is advisable at all to ask permission if you want to take a photo of someone, a smile is usually enough. Remember that it is not okay in every culture to take pictures of people you do not know!

· Always make sure you have enough memory cards with you If you take photos with a digital camera, it is important to have enough memory cards. The same applies to the memory space on your phone. There is nothing worse than a full card, just at a perfect photo opportunity. We can recommend for capturing HD video a SanDisk memory card with 32GB. You can better choose for the maximum GB as possible to avoid missing a great shot while frantically clearing out old photos.

· Look for unknown places. Every moment can be perfect, try to avoid the standard sunsets and panoramic views. Not that they cannot be beautiful, but you will find much nicer and more original photo opportunities in unexpected places. You can train your 'photographer's eye' to find these moments and perspectives. It requires some practice, but your photos will certainly benefit.

Of course, you also need to enjoy the journey. Do not watch your whole journey through the camera but start experiencing things! Sometimes it is good to take your camera always with you but it’s nice to be able to just walk around and do things without having to continually focus on the right composition or to watch out that your camera does not get wet. Even though it can feel like you are missing beautiful events by not having your camera with you, there will always be more things that you can take photos of. And in case of emergency, you can always get your phone out of your pocket!
